Mumbai Police have apprehended actor and influencer Sahil Khan in connection with the Mahadev betting app case

This arrest comes after his plea for pre-arrest bail was rejected by the Bombay High Court, leading to his arrest by the Mumbai cyber cell’s Special Investigating Team (SIT) in Chhattisgarh. Sahil Khan has been sent to police custody till May 1.

In December 2023, the SIT summoned Sahil and three others for questioning, but he did not appear. Initially, he claimed to be solely a brand promoter under a contract with M/s. Isports247, promoting The Lion Book brand, and denied direct association with the betting platform. However, the police alleged that he was a co-owner of the app and was also a partner in Lotus App 247.

After being brought to Mumbai, Sahil Khan expressed his faith in the judiciary of the country. This development has raised concerns and sparked discussions on social media regarding celebrity involvement in illegal activities and the impact of such cases on their public image.
